On December 13, 2022, the "2022 international symposium on Ecological Environment and Health", successfully co-organized by the school of Environment and Ecology of Chongqing University and the Institute for Environmental Research of RWTH Aachen University. The symposium was held in a virtual formviazoom, Bilibili and Koushare. The participants were from China, Germany, Brazil, Greece and Denmark.

The chair of the school of Environment and Ecology of CQU, Prof. Qiang He, delivered an opening remarks. He hoped that this symposium can provide a platform for experts and scholars to exchange ideas, develop interdisciplinary studies on environmental health.
The lecturers focused on ecosystem services, ecological security, global chemical and waste science and policy institutions, as well as toxicology of emerging pollutants. The attendees had in-depth discussions with experts on energy utilization conversion and population health, analysis and identification of emerging pollutants such as algal toxins, global control of microplastic pollution, chemical pollution, and maintenance of urban ecosystem health.

The school of Environment and Ecology at Chongqing University has rich experience on international exchange and cooperation. With the funding support by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC),, this symposium successfully build an international platform for academic exchange in multiple disciplines such as ecological environment, public health, medicine, and jointly explore the current research progress and frontiers of environmental pollution and health.
