Trader Joe's vitamin E oil review

Trader Joe’s Vitamin E Oil Review

I don’t know a single person familiar with Trader Joe’s vitamin E oil and doesn’t love that store. Everything in there is simply amazing.

Trader Joe’s private label brands are healthy, affordable, and almost always really, really yummy. It should be no surprise that when the store decided to branch out into health and beauty items, these products were also amazing.

It is as if the brand is making all the best stuff just for itself and kindly sharing them with the world. For a small price, of course.

Trader Joe’s beauty products specialize in all-natural ingredients. Their ingredients are pure and gentle, using essential oils. Also, they avoid things like parabens and sulfate lauryl that are unhealthy for your body and can wreak havoc on your hormones.

Why resort to unhealthy ingredients when you can find healthy products that work like a dream?

What is Vitamin E Oil?

Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant, which protects your skin from free radicals. Free radicals are evil; they cause wrinkles and other signs of aging as they damage your cells.

Vitamin E oil: what is it & what are the benefits

Environmental damage such as pollution and sun exposure takes a toll on your skin and speeds up the aging process.

The antioxidants in vitamin E can repair your cells and restore some of the health of your skin. While vitamin E can be taken orally, it is very effective applied topically.

That is why so many skincare products contain vitamin E oil, also sometimes listed as tocopherol.

About Trader Joe’s Vitamin E Oil

I want to start by noting that Trader Joe’s oil is not 100% pure vitamin E. It is an oil blend. In fact, the first ingredient listed on the bottle isn’t even vitamin E, but soybean oil.

However, soybean oil is just as nourishing for your skin as Vit E oil. It has many of the same benefits. I was irritated to read some product reviews online complaining about how they felt lied to about Trader Joe’s oil.

But the ingredients are listed on the label, so they certainly are not trying to hide anything from their consumers. I’m only even mentioning it here so that you don’t feel surprised.

Trader Joe's vitamin E oil with 24000 IUVitamin E oils are categorized in International Units (IU), a standard measurement for all vitamins. Oils can run the gamut from 5000 IU up to 45000 IU.

Trader Joe’s oil is 24000 IU, so fairly middle of the road as far as a gooey factor goes. It is thick enough to stay in place but not as sticky as some others that require a lot of work to move around.

As a bonus, there is no fragrance added.

My Experience: Before & After

Much to my husband’s dismay, I am a beauty product junkie. I say this because I have spent quite a pretty penny over the years trying out fancy facial moisturizers.

I love trying new products, hoping that each one will be the holy grail that will solve all my skin complaints.

And I have a lot of skin complaints, as most women of a certain age do. Fine lines, uneven skin tone, dark undereye circles, acne scars, and even still acne!

Somehow, I had never stumbled across vitamin E in the form of oil in all my beauty searches. Recently, I was exploring Trader Joe’s near my parent’s house. I don’t have one near where I live, so this was a treat.

my experience with Trader Joe's vitamin e oil

My mom needed to pick up the soap, so as we strolled down the beauty aisle, I was drawn to all the natural products. Stunned by the incredibly affordable price, I picked up a bottle of Trader Joe’s vitamin oil and decided to give it a try.

It was not all runny and slippery as I expected it to be. It was somewhat thick, though hardly sticky.

I applied it to my face to discover that it went on smoothly and spread evenly over my skin. I rubbed it in, and it did not leave me feeling greasy; the oil absorbed fairly quickly into my skin.

As I continued to use Trader Joe’s oil, I’ve started to notice the incredible benefits this product has.

Trader Joe’s Vitamin E Oil Facial Benefits

I definitely notice a slight change in my facial skin since I began using Trader Joe’s vitamin E oil. It feels a bit softer, and any dry flakey spots are gone.

My face skin tone is what has amazed me the most. That’s because I usually have redness all around my nose and above my lip. I use makeup every day to hide it.

I no longer see that inflammation in the morning; my face color is even, and I hardly ever use concealer now.

Even some of the darker skin spots are lighter than they used to be. I have slight acne scarring from my teenage years, and they are getting lighter, as well.

My honest experience is that changes don’t come easy, though. Consistency is key if you want to see any changes and skin benefits.

Skin Dryness Benefit

Trader Joe’s vitamin E oil helps restore moisture to your face skin and sealing in your natural moisture. This barrier can prevent your skin from drying out.

When your skin becomes dried out, it begins to look uneven in tone. By restoring the proper moisture balance in your skin, you help your skin regain its healthy appearance from when you were younger.

Anti-Aging Benefits

This oil improves your skin’s elasticity by boosting collagen production. This helps to diminish the appearance of facial fine lines.

Age spots that start appearing around your face are also lightened with the use of vitamin E oil. Add in softer feeling skin, and suddenly it is apparent why so many beauty products include vitamin E.

Scars & Wounds

The antioxidants found in vitamin E promote healing, so it is a valuable tool for reducing or eliminating scarring.

Trader Joe’s oil encourages new skin cell growth, which affects the scar tissue around the trouble spot.

The scar tissue is softened up once the skin cells begin to regenerate, and eventually, fresher skin will take its place. The scar begins to fade.

Vitamin E Oil Uses cover

When used on a wound before the scar has the chance to develop, a scar is less likely to appear.

Anti-Inflammatory

Did you know that you can use vitamin E oil to soothe and prevent razor burn? Or am I the only person who did not know about this? The oil helps and moisturizes the irritated skin, therefore eliminating those annoying and uncomfortable bumps.

Applying Trader Joe’s oil to a bug bite will heal more quickly and take away the itching. I’m not saying I’m looking forward to my next mosquito bite, but I am looking forward to trying this trick out.

Some people also find relief from their eczema through vitamin E oil. The antioxidant properties in the oil calm the inflamed skin.

Trader Joe’s Vitamin E Oil Eye Benefits

I heard dark circles under my eyes should start to lighten up with Trader Joe’s vitamin E oil. The jury is still out on that one; I can’t tell if they are actually starting to improve or not.

I will have to keep it up a while longer before I make that call. However, if you decide to use Trader Joe’s oil around your eyes, please remember to go very gentle with the oil!

Vitamin E Oil under Eye wrinkles treatment

Only use the product around the eyes and not inside the eyes. You can use it for your eyelashes, too. Just be careful with the quantity as it can run into your eyes.

I now put the oil on a cotton pad and swipe it across my eyes. It leaves the perfect amount behind.

The best part, however, is that it doubles as a makeup remover! My waterproof mascara is gone in an instant, and my eyes are nicely moisturized. That’s some serious multitasking.

Trader Joe’s Vitamin E Oil Hair Benefits

It isn’t just the skin that can benefit from a little vitamin E oil. Adding a small drop and working it through your hair can soften it up or prevent fly-aways.

Even dry, brittle, or processed hair can look healthier. Some people add a bit to damp hair after washing, but I prefer to swipe a bit through my dry ends.

Trader Joe’s Vitamin E Oil Body Benefits

I really liked how this oil made my face feel, so I decided to target other trouble spots on my body. My feet and hands could always use a little extra attention.

I’ve been rubbing a bit of vitamin E oil into my feet every evening, and my toes are definitely sandal-ready. My dry and ragged cuticles are also looking healthier these days.

I like that I can put this on before bed and not worry about spilling some on my pillow.

Wrapping it Up

Many people like to use this product in lotions and other beauty products they create at home. If making your own beauty supplies is your thing, this is an excellent oil to add since it contains no fragrance.

The density is just right for mixing with other products, too, because it blends well and won’t make them runny.

My only real complaint about Trader Joe’s vitamin E oil is that there is no Trader Joe’s close to where I live.

My bottle will eventually run out, which means I will have to make a pilgrimage to buy another bottle. But for all the fun I’ve had with this one bottle, which came at such a low price, I will definitely order one online.
